David W. Goodman, MD, considers the role of humility and openness in relation to adult attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), a value gained from a former mentor. Without a proper curiosity toward emerging research in the field, the clinician risks adopting a closed perspective that will impede any effective therapeutics for this disorder.
Dr Goodman continues to highlight that there is a lack of focus on adult ADHD through residency and training programs despite it being a common psychiatric disorder among adults.
