Lenard A. Adler, MD, advises young clinicians to take a closer look for the symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults in order to diagnose them correctly. Dr Adler also highlights the importance of looking for associated symptoms, including executive dysfunction and emotional dyscontrol.
As ADHD affects 4.4% of the adult population in the United States, Dr Adler implores young clinicians to diagnose this condition because with treatment, there is a substantial chance of improvement.
