Deborah M. Stephens, DO, recounts the personal experience of witnessing a family member suffer with Richter transformation, which is the progression from chronic lymphocytic leukemia into diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and how it motivated her to learn more about the condition during her medical career. Dr Stephens shares a recent experience about when she sought to enroll a patient with Richter transformation into a clinical trial only to be met with exclusion criteria that kept the patient out of the trial. This experience has motivated Dr Stephens to amplify her advocacy efforts to help shape inclusion criteria and get more of her patients into vital clinical trials.
