An 82-year-old woman complaining of fatigue has a hemoglobin level of 8 g/dL with a mean corpuscular volume of 114 fL. Her B₁₂ level is 90 pg/mL (normal level: > 200). Folic acid level is normal. Methylmalonic acid levelis high.
